Women groups empowered with startup capital

Dozens of women groups in Kitui County have received startup capital from the county government under a women empowerment fund aimed at boosting small businesses.

The beneficiaries, drawn from across the county's sub-counties, will use the funds to expand existing businesses or start new income-generating ventures.

"Empowering women economically has a ripple effect on entire households and communities. We are proud to support these groups," said a county gender officer during the disbursement exercise.
