Meru town played host to a regional badminton championship that brought together players from across the Eastern region, in what organizers described as a step towards reviving the sport in the region.
The tournament featured categories for juniors, seniors and mixed doubles, with winners earning slots to represent the region in upcoming national championships.
"We want to identify and nurture badminton talent right from the grassroots," said one of the tournament organizers.
