Residents protest attack on Governor sparking security concerns

Residents of Samburu County took to the streets in protest following an assault incident involving the county governor, an act that has been widely condemned by leaders across the political divide.

Area leaders called for calm and urged residents to allow investigative agencies to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

"Violence has no place in our politics. We must resolve our differences through dialogue," said a local leader addressing residents during the protest.

Police have launched investigations into the matter and promised that those found culpable will be brought to book.
