A key bridge in Laikipia County that had stalled for years has finally been completed, easing the movement of residents, students and traders who previously risked their lives crossing a flooded river.
The bridge had become a symbol of delayed development in the area, with residents recounting numerous incidents of near-drownings during the rainy season before its completion.
"This bridge means our children can now go to school safely, even during heavy rains," said a local resident during the commissioning ceremony.
